Top Tools Apps on Android in New Zealand: Q2 2025 Performance

In the second quarter of 2025, several tools apps on the Android platform in New Zealand demonstrated notable trends in downloads and active users, as reported by Sensor Tower.

2degrees NZ saw a gradual decrease in weekly downloads, starting from around 9K and dropping to approximately 5.5K by the end of June. Despite this, active users displayed a positive trend, climbing from 46.7K to about 57.2K.

QR & Barcode Scanner experienced a fluctuation in downloads, beginning the quarter with 4.6K and ending at roughly 3.9K. Active users also varied, starting at 33.1K, reaching a low of 21.7K, and then recovering to 28.6K by the end of the period.

Google Authenticator had steady download numbers, ranging from 2.1K to 3.1K. Active users showed a slight increase overall, starting at 49.9K and ending at 59K.

Samsung Smart Switch Mobile downloads increased from 1.7K to 2.6K. Active users initially decreased from 12.1K to a low of 3.7K but later recovered to 12.5K.

Finally, Authenticator App - SafeAuth reported weekly revenue peaking at $184 in early April. Downloads showed an upward trend, rising from 2.6K to 3.2K, while active users increased consistently from 61K to 72.1K.
